5/10: Hmm

Greg, 12 years old and the middle brother with an almost-toddler younger brother and an idiot-psycho-teenager older brother, is taken on a road trip by his mother who is determined to keep the family isolated from electronic devices. After 3 tolerably entertaining family movies, the franchise has been recast - we have 5 new actors playing Greg, his parents, and his older and younger brothers. I do not think the recasting is an improvement. This is especially so in the case of older brother Roderick who is now played by a young actor who clearly has oriental family somewhere in his near past. I don't have a problem with this, but it does make you raise your eyebrows a bit.The story is dumb (especially the ongoing plot thread concerning Greg falling foul of a large bearded fellow on broadly the same itinerary. I know the crux of the plot is Greg getting into trouble, but this...

1/10: A 12 year old's perspective

When I turned on the the TV to see an ad for the new diary of a wimpy kid film I felt like I could do 200 cartwheels.I love the DOAWK films and books and was so glad for a new one. But I ended up so annoyed at the end of the film. Also I should probably mention I saw the film around a month ago but this is what as a kid I think of this film.I tried so hard throughout the movie to like it. I wanted to like it. But I couldn't. The film is so poorly written it sounds like a skit from 2007 YouTube. Sorry to break this to you, but most kids over the age of 7 don't like lol random humour which doesn't make sense. OMG LOL HE COVERED IN CHEESE PUFFS XD. Instead of being lazy. Just make your actors look like humans. There vocabulary and...

1/10: Probably, one of the worst sequels since Ouija:Origin Of Evil or Scary Movie 5..BUT WORSE

The Diary Of A Wimpy Kid trilogy is probably one of my favourite family franchises and when I heard a fourth film was in development,I was really excited but all of a sudden,I heard that it would have completely new actors and my opinion from 100% went down to 40 and then when I saw the cast,it went down to 10% and then when I saw it..it went to f*cking a big fat,0 and lets talk why. Not only is The Long Haul one of the must unfuny films ever,it's acting is even worse,no one in this film was good and that's including Alicia Silverstone. Tom Everlett Scott, not saying he's good, was also awful in this but he is'int very good any way. Oh,and the kids actors who portrayed Rodrick and Greg were also god damn awful, they were just those kind of teen or kid...

10/10: Perfect example of movie discrimination
Thursday, July 27, 2017

First off I wanna talk just a little about the movie then talk about good movies that get a bum rap because it was a remake, who starred in the movie, who directed the movie etc.Obviously the movie wasn't a 10 but for sure wasn't under a four rating as well. I'd give it a solid 6.1 to 6.5 IMDb rating . The new diary of a wimpy kid had some funny moments, good acting, a story line you can follow and I have to say between my wife and 2 kids no one fell asleep in the movie theater. I was shocked to see what low rating it got. It just goes to show that movie ratings based on a number means absolutely didly.I wish there was a new law rating movies, like you would of had to seen it and at the end of the movie you get a code that allows...

8/10: New Cast does a great job

Not quite as good as the original cast but still funny. The people that gave this movie low ratings take things a little to serious... this movie was not made to portray real life for crying out loud. it's meant to be funny, corny and hopefully to get a laugh out of you. With all the crap Hollywood is putting out these days, this is a movie you can watch with your kids and not have to deal with non stop cussing, sex, drugs and violence... if you can't get a few laughs out of this movie you need to lighten up a bit and relax... take it for what it was meant to be. A slapstick comedy that parents Can watch with their kids. I have teenagers and we all enjoyed this movie. Give it a go cause it does have some very funny parts... I didn't think Roderick could ever be replaced from the original...
